Jess and I will be tabling at the brand new Papercuts Comics Festival market day on Sunday the 15th of September. With big conventions becoming more expensive and more focused on pop culture and less on comics in general, I’m excited for a local comics festival.
It’s a free event with over 40 stallholders from across Australia so come drop by and check out some amazing comics!

•19 June 2019I know what you’re thinking: where have all the regular Heart of Millyera updates gone? We promise that we haven’t been holding out on you!
2019 has been a year full of studying and employment commitments which forced us into (another) involuntary hiatus; but, finally, we have a new page for you! You might remember that Ida and Celeste have recently arrived at the university awards party.
Jana and I will be working to bring you a few more pages this year, so please stay tuned!

•28 December 2018The girls make an entrance! I’ve been looking forward to drawing this page for a while. I love the girls usual outfits but fancy dresses and outrageous hats was definitely something I was looking forward to.
We hope you’ve all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, or whichever holiday you might celebrate in December and enjoyed spending some time with family and friends. Have a wonderful New Year too, let’s ring in 2019 in style! We look forward to bring more pages to you on the other side.

•16 October 2018Quite some time ago we shared the first page of Heart of Millyera with the world, and this month I am happy to share that the script for this story has been completed!
Yep, not just the next issue – but the entire story arc is done, dusted and currently in the editing stage! Woo!
This months new page also introduces (or re-introduces) Corvina Malvara, her ship, the Advantagia, and her crew. You will get to know more about these slick global mariners soon!

•4 September 2018And so we return to Millyera going incognito to explore Flora Bay. It’s great to be sharing the Heart of Millyera story proper again. We now return to our regular 4 weekly schedule so tune back in October 2nd for page 28.
Upcoming Appearance
The 2018 Adelaide Steampunk Festival is just around the corner Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of September and Jess and I are excited to be sharing table 34 with Hail in Artist Alley which you can find in the Fitch Pavilion. We will also be on stage at 12.15 for a creators chat.
It will be held at the National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide so I can’t wait to check out all the old trains. I don’t think you could get a more steampunk location! With loads of performances, panels, market stalls, activities to try and general daytime family-friendly frivolity we hope to see you there!

•10 July 2018Jeez Ida, I know you’re salty about settling down but come on. There is plenty of adventure in books!
The Kickstarter surveys are pretty much all in now so the book will be off to the printers later this week. So this means we’re on track to have all our rewards shipped off in plenty of time before our next event, the Adelaide Steampunk Festival Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th of September. The Adelaide cosplay community is off the charts talented so I can’t wait to feast my eyes on all the glorious attendees while we peddle our wares.
But much sooner than that however we’ll be back on the 31st of July for the last page of The Many Adventures of Ida Blaker.

•19 June 2018We did it! Our kickstarter for The Many Adventures of Ida Blaker was smashed out of the park, and was funded by 225%!
Because we hit $900, exceeding our first stretch goal, this meant that every backer of the Kickstarter scored a bonus PDF copy of our previous mini-comic Great Beasts!
Now that the campaign is finished we will be hard at work signing, packing and shipping all the books off to their new homes. We are so excited and proud that we will be able to print this beautiful mini-comics and send it off to people all over the world!
Today we also bring you Page 6 in all it’s vibrant, colourful glory! This page is for anyone who has ever stared up at the stars and longed for adventure. We are sorry to say that this page does leave you hanging, but never fear as the next page of The Many Adventures of Ida Blaker is never far away. We will be posting Page 7 on 10th of July!

We’re on the home stretch for The Many Adventures of Ida Blaker Kickstarter campaign and we’re so close to hitting our first stretch goal! There is only a limited number of steampunk commissions available so if you’d like me to punk your face or the face of a loved one don’t miss your chance!

•7 May 2018Where is young Ida off to next? Part of the fun of writing a fantasy story is the endless possibilities for the world you are creating. I was on holidays in New Zealand and surrounded by majestic scenery of epic proportions when I really started mapping out the Heart of Millyera world map. In this little spin-off story we saw an opportunity to illustrate just some of the destinations which I had come up with and we hope you enjoy this quick globe trott with Ida!
This week we were glad to have a table at Free Comic Book Day, thanks to Greenlight Comics, who had us back for a second year! We had a blast! We are also excited to be tabling at Pop Con Adelaide on Saturday 12th May, and we will be taking part in the Steampunk Panel along with the esteemed Karen Carlisle and James Murray! If you are in Adelaide and have not bought your ticket to this great event, then please do, as we are fortunate to have such a fantastic convention in our fair city!
Wait, we have some more big news for you! Next week we will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for a printed version of The Many Adventures of Ida Blaker! So if you would like a copy of our little adventure to hold in your hands then stay tuned for launch day on the 16th of May!
